Hello,

its a long time since my last post. I got a ton of things to do like work and familiar problems. But now i am back. I reinstalled CCD and 5 mins later i installed mods. Mods do massively improve the game experience i think. But i always hated those pkg mod installer or whatever we had to use to install mods.

So i am back wit my (old) idea. The "Open Mod Installer". I wrote some tools but they got deprecated since i had no time to really finish them.

Now i am back. And i want it Big.

I am writing a tool that allows to install mods, compressed as zip or rar. It dont matter if car mod or something else. Every type of mod is supported. I also want to implement a search function that searchs for mods directly from my website, download and install them. You also can download and install them manually from my website or just download them there and let my tool do the work.

A place where mods can sort by type, CCD version, update date, creator and everything else you can imagine.
Its very simple to youse and will do the complete work for you or guide you through all this.

The question is: Is the community still active? Do we/you need that type of tool?
Remember: no more messing with files you cant open or installers that wont work.

Even the small guy could create mods and share them.

What do you mean? There were a fer test persons that time ago that sucessfuly created a few mod. I mean, it isnd hard, if you want to change a value in a file, just do it and share it. That is also modding and counts ;)

The installer was fixed in 1.5 but 3 days ago we had a big update so now we are on 1.5.1 and nobody can use the installer except for 3 users or something

Ooh you mean that yeah I can do that but also a modder released a tutorial of how to start with modding sk maybe we van use you mod installer in the future for new modders like me david jericho and the rest

i dont want to explain (for now) how it works but its very simple and you can easily use this with any type of mod. Old mods can be converted and newer ones doesnt even need anything.

literally anyone can make mods. :)

If i edit a value in a file - its a mod. A mod_ification of a file.
I do not exactly know hot to convert cars to CCD. But what i know is, we dont need those pkg crap for it. Mods are edited files that needs to replaced with originals. Simple as it is. Nothing else do the mod installers. With on exeption. We cant control it. We have to install it or not. We do not know wich files are replaced or not. we can not edit it ourselfs before "applying" to the game. We can not see into that files.

Searching and editing after its in the CCD folder is pain in the ***

And i also dont want it just for cars. Its for every type of mod. Like another language, new roads, new signs, other values of the game itself - just everything.
