But today, when I just wanted to start the game, Steam says that the game was removed and it has to install it again!? And my mods are all gone! ._. Any ideas why? Thanks in advance, Niklas

Even if Steam thinks it's not installed, reinstall it, and it should rediscover your files and not have to completely re-download the game.

Prior to doing so: back up any files that are modified, because Steam will replace them when reinstalling.

Steam does do that; it's a bug. It has happened to me numerous times (most often with GTA V).
