After updating to the latest version of the game I see an error during the game loading. The old version worked fine. How to fix it? , Wednesday, 11 December 2024 05:50

This problem can occur on 32-bit operation systems in case you start the game in DirectX 9 mode with maximum texture quality settings. This happens due to the system limitation on memory using in 32-bit operation systems. To fix this, you need to increase this memory limit:

1. Download and unpack this archive file - http://citycardriving.com/files/BCD.zip

2. Run the command BAT-file, which you’ve just unpacked, as administrator (right click on the file and choose "Run as administrator" in the context menu).

3. Reboot your PC.

What is "Multi-threaded rendering"? , Wednesday, 11 December 2024 05:50

This is a new option available in DirectX 11 mode. In this mode, processing of the graphics will be done in a separate thread. That will result in significant performance (FPS) increasing, in case of availability of idle processor cores.

I've enabled the "Multi-threaded rendering", but the game started to freeze, crash or graphical artifacts appeared. What should I do? , Wednesday, 11 December 2024 05:50

In some cases the "Multi-threaded rendering" option may cause game's stability problems. If such happens, that option should be disabled. If after enabling that option you can't enter the game menu to disable it, you should delete the folder "Forward Development" from your "My Documents" folder.

2. Try launching the game with administrator privileges (right click on it and choose "Run as administrator" in the context menu).

3. Try re-installing the game, but run the distribution kit with administrator privileges (right click on it and choose "Run as administrator" in the context menu). During the installation process, you should agree on installing all additional software, because it's necessary for correct program operation.

4. Make sure that folder name and path, where the game has been installed, doesn't contain long names or wrong (non-english) symbols.

5. Update your video card driver to the latest version from your video card manufacturer's website.

● From your Windows click the "Start" button and use the search box field.
● Type DXDIAG in the field and hit Enter.
DXDIAG will start, and may display a prompt that begins "Do you want to allow DxDiag to check if your drivers are digitally signed..." Answer "Yes" to this query if it appears.
● A window entitled "DirectX Diagnostic Tool" appears, and in the lower left corner, a progress meter begins to advance towards the right as DXDIAG collects information relating to the system's hardware and Windows component configuration.
● When the progress indicator disappears, hit the "Save All Information" button. Then save this file as DXDIAG.TXT where it can be easily located. By default DXDIAG will place this file on your Desktop. Then send this file to us.

We will research all this information and then will advise you next steps.

I've recently updated my game or change several settings. Now the game doesn't work. What shold I do? Administrator, Thursday, 16 February 2012 16:45

Delete the folder "Forward Development" from your "My Documents" folder. This step usually helps in case if you've recently updated your game, changed game settings to incorrect or your profile DB file has been corrupted for some reason. Please, notice that after this action your profile will be deleted, all your settings will be reseted to default and the game progress and statistics will be lost.

I've added a new car to the game or any other third-party mod. Now the game doesn't work. What shold I do? Administrator, Thursday, 16 February 2012 16:45

Please note that correct program operation with any third-party mod is not guaranteed! You install them at your own risk. Developers bear no responsibility for this.

1. Uninstall the game in the "Control Panel\Programs and Features" menu.

2. Manually delete the folder, where the game has been installed (if it will remain after uninstallation).

3. Delete the folder "Forward Development" from your "My Documents" folder.

4. Install the game again (using the latest distributive from our official web site) and surely run the distribution kit with administrator privileges (right click on it and choose "Run as administrator" in the context menu). During the installation process, you should agree on installing all additional software, because it's necessary for correct program operation.
