In new update it is almost impossible to pass the city test on career mode. You only get 5 points for entire drive which goes across the entire map i believe. I believe this is the updated tutorial level in previous versions you get more penalty points but in my version it only gives 5 and minor violations make it impossible to clear. How do i increase the points limit because 5 is too strict ive tried over 100 times all fail with minor random violations. any way to increase point limit ? anyone has beat the new city test yet ?

I've literally played the mission ober 200 times to progress career mode but simply 5 penalty points is too impossible. Did they even play test the new version?

I've had the same issue, you pretty much get own actual driving violation and you can lose just for not putting on your right indicator when you're pulling out of the parking spot in a driveway.

I never even completed career mode with 3 stars on each one. Like that one where your night driving in a Toyota Corolla and you can't go below 15 KM/H constantly? I just said screw it and used 3DI Unlocker.

Indeed, you actually need LUCK to pass in the city exam.

The two most common factors of LUCK that I had to deal with are:
- A car at my left side suddenly changes to my lane causing an accident;
- The message "Hindrance to the vehicle moving in the same direction" appears many times with no reason.
THIS LAST ONE IS ANNOYING, and the forum is already aware of that. There are suggestions for changes in the violation rule.

Some of the factors that require discipline and many times we forget are:
- You need to use the left turn signal to start moving.
- Remember to use the low lights, and do not use high lights with no reason;
- Be aware with pedestrians ready to cross the crosswalk;
- Be aware to not touch yellow stripes in the ground;
- Get ready to cross the intersection when the traffic lights just went of green to yellow is always a bad idea;
- Always use the turn signal to change lanes or turn;
- Move through intersections only if you're sure the cars coming will not need to reduce speed (and many times, acting correctly, you'll get a violation message for no reason - a LUCK factor);
- Use the proper lane according to the direction you'll need to turn (some lanes do not allow you to turn, others do not allow you to move forward);
- Always use the right signal to get in and out the roundabout (inside the roundabout, the left signal is just a recommendation and do not cause a message ... and the right signal to move to the right lane is not necessary at least playing using USA rules));
- Be aware with speed limit signals, and if they are in Mph or Kph. For example, if you see a speed limit signal with a "12" on it using USA rules, be aware that it means 20 in your speedometer (12mph = +/- 20kph). I wrote a suggestion in this forum to arrange the speedometer pointer position with the current speed limit metric used in the world.
- Use the right signal to park;
- Start using the seatbelt;
- Remember to change to the correct gear to park and / or pull the handbrake.


Don't worry, you're not a bad driver.
And........ about the stars: some achievements that requires to perform an exercise in short time can't be earned depending of the settings of your car. For example, some settings makes you accelerate slowly (giving some comfort and safety), turn smoothly... and some control settings makes you accelerate very fast, brake faster, but makes your tires screech a lot or crash your car in a light pole when you're trying to turn right in a corner. Oh, and the red lights will never help you with time achievements.

I followed all the rules and I even changed the speed for my car in user rules with the exception of certain areas. Still failed. It's like the AI knows you are trying to pass the exam. So they do anything to make to you fail. I've tried it for a week straight. I just gave up.

The problem is even bigger in the advanced mode: in almost 50% of the tries, a car running in the lane at your side moves to your lane (to your front) and immediately stops suddenly. A true homicide and suicide attempt. If you still alive and not traumatized, a real-life teacher would look to you and say: "that wasn't your fault... you were doing everything right, and there was no way to predict the other driver (who commited the accident) action. So, of course you are in your right to try again". Ok, and this means that traffic cars commiting faults over you (sabotage) leading you to restart your virtual exam is just loss of time. I haven't seen this problem in normal mode of the city exam, but occours on free driving mode some times. Frustrating. They can be running under or above the speed limit, they can change lanes, but they should never change a lane just after have appeared at your side (that would cause a inevitable accident). It's neither possible to look the turn signals! This kind of dangerous condition should be fixed with the following rule: you'd only be blocked by cars at a certain distance at your front, giving you at least one second to think and also some time to brake with no much tire screeching (as happens sometimes in free driving mode --- yes, the free driving mode has a good and also a bad "suddenly stop in front of the player" situation).
