Hi there!

I bought this simulator for a couple of months ago and it worked without any issues at all.

Now it won't start, only saying starter.exe has stopped working.

I have updated DirectX, visual c++, K-lite codec pack, updated graphicdrivers and sounddrivers so everything is up to date.

Still i get the same errormessage, it also wont work running the simulator as admin nor in compatible mode.

My PC specs are:

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
Intel Pentium i7 920 @ 3.2GHz
6 GB 1333 MHz DDR Ram
1 GB ATi HD Radeon 5870
750W PSU
750 GB HDD
Logitech G27
Logitech G19 keyboard
Logitech G500 Lasermouse

What changes have you made in your PC after that it stopped working?

There is a file in the installationfolder called CEGUI and if i look in that report it is some files it cant find/load.

Is there an update for those files? if so getting an update from those files might solve it, it seems that it tries to load some files for the CEGUI that it recognise on another hdd where none of those files are.

So it seems like maybe those CEGUI dll files are broken or adressed wrong. But sadly uninstall and reinstalling doesnt make it work.

There is also no changes in the registry.

Do you see a blank screen before the game crashes?

Not a blank one but for sure a black one if you mean that

dxddiag.info is on the attachments.

This happens when im ingame driving and hit esc and then hit left alt + tab for going to windows.
After i try to go back ingame it gives me a blackscreen with this error..

There's only a black screen, i hear the introsound and then it just crashes to the desktop with the only message "city car driving has stopped working"

If you have a blank screen and then game crashes – the problem is in the start video caption of the game. In the most cases installing the proper codecs should help, but in very rare cases - not.

So, to be sure in that:

1) Go to your game folder (City Car Driving), then to the subfolder “\data\video” and delete the file “logo.avi”.
2) Rename any other AVI video file (which you can successfully play on your PC just in any media player) to the “logo.avi” and put it in the folder “City Car Driving\data\video” instead of the file you’ve deleted in point #2.
3) Try to start the game and please let us know about any changes.

I tried to delete the logo.avi and change it with another videofile i renamed to logo.avi

Sadly no success, same error over and over again, "starter.exe as stopped working"

Got all the latest codecs and everything and everything else works without any errors, games, videos, internet and all that, only this simulator that wont run.
