Why would anyone need a MOD INSTALLER or .PKG in 2018, we have Steam Workshop for that, I personally just skip the mods outside workshop unless they are something REALLY great.

I mean it is used to install .PKG of course, but why do modders still upload .PKG (or even worse, .zip)? It is a lot easier to install it directly from Steam.
I respect modders who do that, but what are the reasons for that? Are there some advantages that non-workshop mods have?

Not unfriendly but maybe just my bad English makes it look like that. I just wanted to know why are mod installers and manually installed mods still preferred by some modders over Steam?

Not all mods are available on Steam; some people don't even use the Steam version!
