Hello!

There is a new modding opportunity - possibility of changing sounds for user cars! But how to change these sounds? In this topic we'll try to help users-modmakers understand this new featute and provide some instructions.

The project sound file for v1.5.7 you can find here - citycardriving.com/files/Mod_Sound_1.5.7.zip

Instructions:

Sound support is carried out using the Microsoft Cross-Platform Audio Creation Tool (XACT) from the Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010). A brief introduction in English how to use it you can find on Mictrosoft web site here - msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff827590.aspx

In order to hear an audio in your project, you need to run the utility AudConsole3.exe, which is included in this SDK, or when you press the play button - it will display an error.

In order to change the sound, you should just put a wav-files with matching names (listed in the list wavbank) in the appropriate folder. If you prefer, you can tune up the settings. Then you should build the project, and ready library (three files. Xgs. Xwb. Xsb) need to be placed in the data\audio folder in the game. Then you should put the proper line in carproperty settings file to the car you wish to mod.

Actually the procedure should be:

Open the project file, save it with a new name, for example as "Porche911". Allocate the project name in the list on the left (NewCar), you have to set a convenient path to Windows Global Settings (bottom left). Selects Wave Bank, bottom left prescribe the necessary Windows Build Path with the correct name of the file. Select Sound Bank, prescribe the necessary Windows Build Path. In the Wave Bank-e have to write each name of the file into a string Source Path (on the left in the box, General). Press the button "Builds the current projects". In setted paths (in theory should be the only one path) you'll get three files: .Xgs, .Xwb, .Wsb. You only need two: .Xwb and .Wsb, you should copy them to the folder data\audio in the game. In the line carproperty SoundBankName = prescribe the name of your library, for example as "Porche911".

Additional opportunities (from version 1.4 and higher):

In this new version additional sounds have been added - sound of ABS, sounds of car wheels skidding
and sliding effects on different surfaces as well as some others.

Now in the settings of a car you can specify 1 or 2 sound banks - Common: BaseSoundBankName and Common: SoundBankName.
This is done for ease of sounds setup.

For example, if you need to configure 3 modification of one and the same car, differing only by the power
of the engine. To do this, just create 1 basic bank and 3 extended banks. In extended bank there're
only the sounds of engines. When the program is loading, at first it makes an attempt of loading
the desired sounds from the extended bank, but if it fails, then they are loaded from the base bank.

I dont understand any of this. I finally found out where to download the program, but I've got no idea of how to make the car sound, and where I get it from. Any downloads yet?
Best regards!

Basically a car sound horrible when it become old or some dust particles found in its carburetor and engine. A used car is always suffer from worst sound and to overcome from this problem, we need to take good care of our engine and carburetor and fuel is also essential.

Has anyone had any success with this? I'd love some new sounds for cars in the game cause most are pretty unrealistic and makes driving less enjoyable. I'd love a deep engine sound like a low V8 rumble. I've had no luck messing around with the sound file and maybe someone else had? This game really needs better sounding cars
