Hello,

I have just scanned my computer with the best rootkit scanner out there, namely HitMan Pro 3.6.5.

The rootkit scanner reports the following to be malware:
..\Games\City Car Driving\bin\win32\Starter.exe

Why does this program say that your product is malware?
I am very concerned.
No, HitMan Pro is not a fake antivirus. It's a real rootkit scanner.

So I want to know why Starter.exe was picked up as malware.

Thank you,

An antivirus saying that valid program is a "malware" is not too uncommon problem.
Well, its their work to be somewhat paranoid, and they also can contain some bugs, so in a situation like this one have to use his common sense.

Where did you get the distributive from? Do you trust the source? If yes, than you can just ignore the message. If no, try uploading from our official link - the copy in our storage is guaranteed to be virus-free.

Some AV programs may see the .exe file as a malware if the file has been modified (patches etc)

I have no issues using this software and my AV (AVG) havent found anything.

Probably a falsepositive thing or maybe you have got something from the internet that has spread to that particular file.

But thats just my guess

I've checked that file with virustotal.com, which uses 43 different malware scanners. 3 out of those 43 flagged the file as a generic trojan. This is definitely just a false alert, not an uncommon thing.
