TOPIC: How accurate is this for getting back into driving

How accurate is this for getting back into driving 25 May 2019 20:54 #112385

My Partner hasn't been well over the last few years and is getting back on her feet.
She's apprehensive about getting back into a car and I think this may be a good thing to help her.

So my questions are stuff like:
Does stalling occur, and how realistic is this scenario?

One of her biggest worries is roundabouts, stalling under pressure and accelerating quick enough entering from a stand still.

I know UK rules don't apply, but for basic stop starting etc, is this a good introduction back?
Thanks guys

Hi there, I hope your partner is becoming healthier and I wish you both the best in the future.

With stalling and starting to drive with the clutch, the simulator is not super realistic.
I assume that you have a racing wheel of some form, as learning to drive with a keyboard or console controller isn't going to be very helpful.
The clutch lacks the feel of a biting point in the simulator, but you can still get a feeling for some aspects of the clutch and how you should engage it when slowing down or starting.

You can definitely practise entering roundabouts with the simulator.

Hopefully this helps you. If you purchase it on Steam and are dissatisfied, you are able to get a refund if you qualify (Own the simulator for less than 2 weeks, and have only used it for less than 2 hours).

Thanks for the reply.
I play a few racing games so I do own a Logitech wheel.

I guess the only real practice is getting out and doing it for real, but I've read a bit more about it and I feel that maybe this is a good start point anyway so will give it a go!
