Change Shifting Points 28 Dec 2019 16:52 #113478

Hey guys,

I am in driving school right now and wanted to use CCD to learn driving faster, but the points, where you shift a gear up or down is not, what I have expirienced in a real car. How can i change this?

Are you asking about the clutch pedal biting point?

This depends on gear ratio on diferrent cars it is another value.

In the real car (and also in CCD), you have to change the gear depending on engine rpm, not car speed.
Basic idea of changing gear is to make the engine running in a certain range of rpm your engine runs efficiently.
That is usually somewhere around 4000rpm (depending on the car, as KOZAN says).
So, shift up before engine runs too fast (i.e. before rpm indicator turns red), and shift down before the engine stalls.

One important thing: Don't stare at rpm indicator. You should judge it by sound. This is actually much easier when you drive a real car, as the real engine sound is louder.
One more important thing: Don't care too much about your gear. Nobody cares it as long as you drive in the right direction.

LMAO
Sorry dude, but you can drive a real car in first gear with 30kph, it's not nice for your ears tho. My car has shifting paddles, I shift uup when I feel to. When accelerating, I have more rpm than when I'm cruising. My car has more Torque and Power with more rpm, but some diesels i.e. have more torque at less rpm. However, I think this is alright in CCD ;)
