TOPIC: CCD genuinely crashes for no reason

CCD genuinely crashes for no reason 14 Jan 2020 23:59 #113637

Hello, after the recent December update, i keep receiving an unexpected crash when loading in free roam no matter what settings i have used. i have done a complete clean reinstall many, MANY times now and i cannot find a solution. What confuses me is that i am able to do the career missions but anything other than that, it just crashes with no message. I had contacted an admin but he was no use at all. I hope you can help me find a solution. However please read the paragraph below for some context.

So i have been on city car driving for around 2 years now and to say the least, i have never had to create a new topic as there are always solutions on the forums. So i have used city car driving steam on two laptops, my old one and new one. I wrote to an admin for help and this was his reply, "Your PC doesn’t meet our system requirements", just note that this is on my new laptop. In that reply, there is no 'minimum requirements' or 'recommended requirements' so i am not completely sure what he was implying. Before i purchased my new laptop, like i said, i used city car driving on my old laptop and i rarely crashed on it. Now get this, my old laptop was nowhere near the minimum requirements (4GB, Intel HD Graphics, 2.10Ghz Pentium B950 Dual - Core), so how did it work on there but not on my new laptop? My new laptop has an I5-8265U, 8GB RAM and Intel UHD Graphics 620. I know how crap (excuse my profanity)integrated graphics are but to be honest, it had already reached my budget and to get it equipped with the Nvidia graphics, it would have cost £200 more. Besides from this, if i could use City Car Driving on my old laptop with at least 15-20fps, why can't i even load into free mode now?

Thank You, all help is appreciated.

Probably the graphics card is the problem here.

Every time I am very surprised when see this kind of complaints.

I expect users to carefully review system requirements before purchasing any software.

Laptops were never(!) supported due to our graphical engine peculiarity. And we always(!) warned about that in our system requirements.

If for some reason you still risked to run the software on a laptop - why complain? You have been warned.

Okay, so if laptops were never supported, how is it that i have played for 34 hours on a really old Intel graphics card with no problem, and with my new Intel UHD 620 Graphics Card, on 1.5.9, i can't even load into free mode? Yes it's guaranteed that if i did purchase my laptop with the Nvidia Graphics Card rather than what i have now it would have worked however i was not able to pull another £200 out of my pockets. Nonetheless, even if your customers do not have the correct specifications, the least you could do is offer some advice rather than using an interrogative sentence of 'Laptops were never(!)' to make them feel even more ashamed of their purchase. I have just lost £20.51 due to poor customer service, it may not seem a lot to you, but to someone who can only just afford it, it is very upsetting.

Thank You, i understand i have been warned but i really needed to make my point clear. You offer no advice except from emphasising about laptops being able to handle a simulator with integrated cards. People cannot upgrade their system just like that.

One last note, City Car Driving works splendidly in Career mode with smooth fps. Mentioned in the first comment.

I always wondered what is the exact feature prevent CCD from running on integrated graphics chip ?
That kind of information would be helpful for the guy playing CCD on laptop at someone's own risk, like MohadAli.

Poor service? We didn't give any advices just because none exists to run the game on integrated chips! If there was any advice that could help running the simulator on integhrated graphics (even with no 100% guarantee) be sure - we would given it. We usually give some advices if a laptop has the 2nd dedicated video card, but absolutely no chance if you have an integrated chip only! It's just not going to work on integrated chips! Crash immediately on launch, or unstable work with crashes even if it launched successfully. This is all you may expect while running on integrated graphics.

I perfectly understand that not everyone can afford expensive computers with powerful dedicated graphics, but I still cannot understand why people buy software if does not have a proper computer which meets the software's system requirements or without even reading the system requirements or after reading, but still risking.

It's just a peculiarity of our graphical engine, we can do nothing about.

Oh my goodness.
I hope it will be specified someday.

This is specified in our system requirements from the very first day of the simulator's existence.

I meant, I hope the reason that prevent CCD from working on integrated chip will be specified.

Most of 3D games using DirectX work on the integrated chip.
Then, there should be the way which makes CCD works on such environment.
That would be also beneficial for forward development, since you can get potential customer.
