TOPIC: Thrustmaster Force Feedback wheel - Throttle pedal

Thrustmaster Force Feedback wheel - Throttle pedal 12 Apr 2022 14:13 #116297

Thrustmaster Force Feedback wheel - Throttle pedal is NOT recognized by the game.

I am using Thrustmaster FFB wheel, not the Pro model. So my wheel base has two pedals only, a Brake and a Throttle. There is NO Clutch Pedal.

I pushed the Throttle Pedal on my wheel base and the Throttle (Gas) indicator on screen has nothing. It did not go up. I pushed the BRAKE pedal and the brake indicator went up normally.

At last I figured this game recogzied my Throttle Pedal as the Clutch Pedal. So it thought I was pusing the Clutch. I went to Settings and change to use the Clutch Pedal (actually my Throttle Pedal) as Throttle function.

Then I can play the game fine.

Is this a bug? If yes, please fix it. If not, please teach me how to proper set my wheel to be used?

Hello,

If you're using a racing wheel/controller you should set up it properly.

First of all – reset all the in-game controls to default (if you tried setup it earlier).

Then quit the game and before starting the game again, please perform these steps:

1. Update your wheel/controller driver to the latest version from your controller manufacturer's website.
2. Calibrate your wheel/controller and check if it works correctly in Windows.
3. Please note that you should connect your wheel/controller to the PC and wait until the very end of its auto calibration strictly before(!) launching the simulator.
4. Go to Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings
and deactivate everything there.

After that start the game and follow the directions below:

First, check if your wheel/controller has the ready settings preset in the game controls menu. If it has one – just select your wheel/controller from the dropdown list. Everything should work automatically from this point.

If your wheel/controller does not have a ready preset select the “default” preset from the dropdown list. Do not use the "similar" mode preset! If there's no exactly your wheel model you should use the default preset and them setup it manually.

Then you have to assign buttons and axes in the game settings manually. To do that you should double-click with the left mouse button on every action in the list and then push the proper button or pedal on your wheel/controller to assign this button or pedal for this action.

Also try different options for pedal axis: “two ways” and “one way” (in the advamced controls menu). This option exists exactly for 2 or 3 pedals proper compatibility. Because some of the wheels may yse one and the same axis for both pedals.
