TOPIC: Low Fuel Mission

Low Fuel Mission 18 Jul 2011 00:17 #1087

Hi!

I have done every single mission with 3 stars without problems, even the transportmission was easy with my g27 using the clutch and manual gearbox, just check the load(bar) and it will go smoothly.

But this last mission is a pain in the *censorship* since i have done it maybe 10 times now and i only managed to get 1 star so i wanted those last two, but everytime in that last roundabout some stupid AI-car always crash into my car and i fail the mission and it is at the same spot every time, after 10 times taking a couple of minutes each run its starting to get real frustrating.

Any tips available would be helpful since this seems to be a bug since it occurs every time at the same spot during the same mission.

Can you make a video how are you completing this mission?

I found this quite easy, although the AI behaviour in roundabouts is indeed really bad. You can conserve fuel by switching off the engine :) When you start, and left the third light (crossing the wide road) just accelerate to 60kmph and switch off the engine. The simulation is not realistic in this regard at all, so you can coast with that momentum until you reach the highway. Switch on the engine after you turned on it, accelerate to 90-110 and switch it off again. You can do this trick multiple times, but these two places are the best to do it and this will leave you with plenty of fuel remaining to finish the mission with 3 stars. Since there's no time limit either, you can just take it easy. Oh, and park on the right as soon as you see the park message, the GPS has it totally wrong, you don't have to go as far as it shows, so you don't have to take the last roundabout at all.
