TOPIC: steering issues

steering issues 01 Dec 2011 07:47 #1543

i have a small steering wheel that does not do the 900 degree rotation. But it does work...and its not a crappy steering wheel. Is there any way to sync the steering wheel better because it turns twice the amount it should in the game :( and its extremely difficult to drive

Hi,

I also had the same problem when i wanted to use a 360 degrees steering wheel with the driving simulator. But this will never work as good as a 900 degrees steering wheel, even with the optimal settings for linearity. I use a 900 degrees steering wheel now and it works great, no problems with unrealistic steering anymore.

This is ridiculous! You have to have a 900 degree wheel in order to have this game works well with your wheel.

yes it is true. There is no way for the game to know what type of wheel you're using, 180 or 900 degrees, but it's still gotta provide you with a full 900 degree steering.. so the less your steering wheel controller rotates the more sensitive it will get. If you want a good wheel get a G27 or a G25. G25 are cheaper now since G27 came out. It has a 6-speed shifter and clutch, cant go wrong with that wheel.

This can be easily fixed by providing a setting for each wheel and you choose which wheel you have. Just like windows provides each driver for each video card.

What I mean is the game only supports 900 degree rotation and nothing else. If you hook up a 180 degree wheel It will still think you're using a 900 degree wheel which makes driving a pain since it "squeezes" 900 degree of rotation into only 180 degrees and the steering becomes 5 times more sensitive. Settings in Windows won't help you much there.

I knew that. To fix it, the game should act differently according to which wheel is being used. I am a software developer I know how to do this and it's not hard to do.

Give me the source code I can do it for all of you. I can't do anything without the source code.
