Only first two controllers recognized by setup? 21 Dec 2011 04:09 #1638

Hi,

I'm running Windows XP SP3 and have three game controllers plugged in. Two Logitech Dual Gamepads and Logitech G25 wheel/pedals. In windows game controller view they appear in the following order: Gamepads first and then G25. In City Car Driving only the gamepads are recognized if all plugged in.

But if I unplug one or both Gamepads the the setup starts to recognize the G25. The setup seems to recognize only 2 controllers at least at the setup time and make difference between those two, tested that by assigning some functions to different Gamepads. Where does the game store the selected setup? Some file (Doubt it, didn't find any changed file storing them under either game's own or my profile's directories), registry perhaps? Is it possible to manually reassign the controller settings to make them use the third controller somewhere?

Removing controller devices, shutting down the system, uplugging devices, starting up the system and plugging the devices in wished order doesn't change the order in which they appear.

I don't want to plug and unplug the controllers I need all the time. Making two hardware profiles is one solution but a clumsy one. I hope there is a better solution. Developers, fellow drivers, any idea?

Thanks in advance,

Timo

Well from what i have experience, the game just changes the Game Controller Settings is the Devices and Printers section. And besides the game doesn't decide the order of the devices. And plus having multiple controllers for multiple drivers may cause driver clashes.

It's best you just keep 2 controllers in like i do, As i can't see anybody ever needing 3 controllers plugged into one PC unless they are playing some sort of multiplayer.
