Download something called IZ3D it will convert any directX 9+ game into stereoscopic 3D and the settings for glasses and such can be changed. Have a go.

IZ3D will work (or at least it did with 1.2.5), but it doesn't provide a very good experience, it basically tries to make up a 3d image based on the 2d information available. Decent quality 3D is only achieved when the game natively supports rendering a view for each eye.

I would very much like to see native stereoscopy support, this would also help in supporting the Oculus Rift VR glasses (see citycardriving.com/component/kunena/?func=view&catid=5&id=11041 ).

You are wrong. IZ3D hooks into the Direct X and makes the game render 2 camera positions, producing a real 3d image. This can be proved by how when you increase the intensity to full the cameras for each eye are effectively looking at the car from both sides.
