Hi,

What can I use to record my screen and upload it to Youtube, at minimum, I want 25 minutes long, and free. Bandicam isn't good. Nor Fraps. I would like you to send me a link on what you think is best. Thank you.:P

I think it's time to get familiar with torrents, right?

Try DXtory, don't know for sure what the limit is, or if there is one.

If you want to torrent: search Fraps [version] onhttp://kickass.to/.

If you are not familiar with it, search for Azereus/Vuze. It's a good torrent program.

I hope I helped you enough with it, good luck!

Does Fraps work on Windows 8?

It even works on the new 8.1, so yes.

I recommend to, if you torrent it, download the latest version.

Just search on youtube on how to record with Fraps, but yeah, it's a retard to get that thing recoding. It also lags like heck on Windows 8, atleast it does all mine, no matter what recorder it is.
6 years on the forum, not very active, but I am still glad to help.

To use fraps and usually all screen recorders with games or require a constant frame rate around 30/60 fps you need a separate hard drive to record to. This is because the game you are playing is putting enough Read/Write requests onto the hard drive and then using a screen recorder like fraps is then trying to write A LOT of data to the drive at the same time.. But it can't so then the recording fps is dropped down low, usually like <10 fps.

I had this problem until I added a 2nd hard drive to my system and with my games on one drive and fraps saving to the other. My OS and programs are on my SSD so its separated too.
Fraps then has 100% usage of that drive without interruptions and can then save at a much faster rate, which allows the fps to stay above 60, though I lock it to 60 as my monitor is 60Hz.. plus recording at 60 then rendering at 30 for YouTube stops any stuttering, tearing etc :)

Fraps is good. If you can't get it work, I can't do anything about it either.

Anyway

DXtory is one of the best screen recorders, but you might want to watch on instruction video's. Then you'll experience what you want. Can't help you more

Although I hope it helped.

Yeah haha, DXtory is good, but I took a 15 minute record, 17.0GB hard drive used up by it, so I quit trying to upload.

Yeah you'll have to recode those videos from screen recorders. My 20-30 Fraps recordings are sometimes like >50GB!

I use Sony Vegas 12 but a good free alternative is Any Video Converter Free.
www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/

Before I used Vegas I used that, and with the right settings you can get pretty decent video and be around 600MB from about 20GB and that's a huge difference for uploading.
My files are usually somewhere between 1.2GB and 2GB but with a 12Mbps upload speed I'm not too bothered about file sizes.
