Hello.
So the problem is i have 20-30 fps in city with default traffic settings and high graphics with AA turned off.
My GPU usage in crossfire is about 30-45% at most, and with my single card GTX 460 (OC) it's the same at 30-45% at most.
If I play Battlefield 3 multiplayer with High Settings i get around 40fps and both with crossfire and single card they work at 99% GPU usage.

So what's wrong with your game? Seriously? I just built my self a better PC mostly to be able to play this game smoothly, but it's exactly the same as my old PC!

This is my NEW pc setup:
650W SF PSU
AMD FX 8320 (8 core) 3.5Ghz (3.7 in turbo)
2x4GB 1600mhz and 1x2GB 1600mhz (total: 10GB ram)
Crossfire 2x Radeon HD6950 1GB
(Tried with my old graphics card Asus ENGTX460 but same 30-45% gpu usage)

With that setup I can play BF3 on ultra with 40-50fps but City Car Driving maxed out only 20-30 fps? Makes sense? I have all the latest drivers and updates. I have bought the game yes, running on 1.3.1

My old setup which also had about same lag in the game:
400W
AMD phenom II 945 3.5Ghz (Quad core)
2x4GB 1333mhz (8GB)
Asus ENGTX 460 Top DirectCU 1GB

So yeah please tell me, does this game just suck at optimizing the max out of my computer? Or am I doing something wrong here? I've tried pretty much everything though...

20-30fps is unplayable, even 30-40fps isn't that very nice, I notice a huge difference between 40fps and 60fps for example, 60fps is really nice and smooth. Above that and there's no difference.
But that's not the questions to debate here, the question is why the heck am I gettin 20-30fps with such a High-End PC?

Try running on DX11. Much smoother for me. I used to get 25fps on CCD with a Nvidia GTX580 and 8GB of RAM with DX9.
Currently, with DX11, I get 50-55fps with CCD.
BTW I have an Intel Core2Quad Q9550 running on 3.2GHz.

Since I believe CCD runs on only 1 core, having multiple won't make that much of a difference. Though its clock speed may. e.g I have 6 cores at 4GHz and ccd only uses about 17% CPU usage. which means its using 100% of only one core.

The CPU Core speed will help. Mine is stock 3.2Ghz and OC'd to 4GHz there is a good 5-7 fps difference.
Then the Graphics Car performance on DX9 or DX11 will have a huge impact on performance.
I have 560Ti which stock at 830MHz and I have OC'd to just over 1GHz and again I see a 10-15 fps difference between clock speeds.

Dx11 has better performance compared to Dx9 as well.. Dx9 I'd get average 30fps and on Dx11 I average about 57.. even with the most detailed mods installed and all settings maxxed!

It's definitely worth it.

your cpu is already overclocking itself with 3.7 turbo mode, just manually cjange yhe turbo multiplier up by 1 or 2 and then your cpu should have about 4GHz in turbo mode but the base frequency will stay at 3.5 :)

what cpu cooler do you have? With AMD just be sure the core temp stays below 75c as anything above that the cpu will throttle to risk damage :)

I'm going to try it the proper way in BIOS, found this great video tutorial showing step by step :) And P95 ofcourse. I have stock cooler, and I've read never let it go above 65C.
Currently it's at around 46C when gaming :D

Yes in BIOS but if you change the Turbo Core Multiplier by 1 or 2 you'll increase the turbo clock but leave the stock clock alone :)

It looks similar to below (depending on your BIOS manufacturer)

E.G In the image above. Number 1 is the stock core ratio and Number 2 is the turbo core. Adding 1 or 2 to that number will increase the GHz only when the CPU enters turbo mode (usually when gaming)
----> Unless you really know what you're doing I wouldn't change much else in the BIOS :) ----<

As for max temp, FX CPU's should stay under 62c as recommended by AMD :)
I have a Phenom II and its max safe temp is a little higher at 72c
I'm watercooled at even with a +0.8GHz overclock (from 3.2 to 4.0) its still under 40c when gaming at a nice 22c idle :)

Cool.
Okay so I overclocked now according to this video:

Really great stuff.
I did Prime95 test for 20 minutes without any issues.
It's now at 3.85Ghz but for some reason it sometimes jumps down to 3.1ghz but just for like half a second in CPU Z that is, is that normal you think?

Oh and I did notice alittle bit higher fps in City Car driving :D Now it barely goes under 30 fps, just some odd times, may overclock a little more but only if it's stable :woohoo:
