TOPIC: Why car does not seem to loose momentum ?

Why car does not seem to loose momentum ? 05 Dec 2013 04:22 #19338

Dear All,

Just getting started with using City Card Driving on my PC
with a logitech g27 wheel drive.

Was a bit surprised that once the car gains certain speed,
it does not looose momentum as any real car would,
as long as I keep the foot on the clutch.

Sort of an automatic -cruise mode-.

Has anybody else noticed something similar ?
Is there a setting that would set this unnaturalness right ?

Cheers,
Nicolas

If you have your foot on the clutch it is disengaged, which means that engine braking can no longer occur. The car is freewheeling. If you're on a slight slope the car is going to gain or keep speed. On a flat it should lose speed though. I've only played the game once since I bought it since I can't play with the super quiet engine sounds. I'll test it out and see what you mean.

I tested it out and the car lost speed slowly, as it should have.

Find an uphill and downhill slope and try it, The car will lose and gain momentum. Though on a flat it will happen, just slower as there's less resistance to stop it moving.

I tried it at the test area and the car did slow down eventually.

When forward development made the manual transmission mode I don't think they took into account engine braking. Even going down the gears makes the car speed up and not slow down. I think they have made a half manual half automatic system it seems. Bloody shitty automatic cars...

Also you can reach max speed in a manual IN FIRST GEAR, all you have to do is foot off accelerator, disengage the cluth, engage clutch fully, depress the accelerator and repeat. Lol you just keep going up in speed, and fast.
