TOPIC: Best computer for CCD play

Best computer for CCD play 08 Dec 2013 03:38 #19552

Hello,

My son would very much like to purchase the CCD game. However, my laptop is older and not compatible. I am trying to find the best laptop that would be compatible with this game. Any suggestions? I am looking to spend < $400. My understanding is that the minimum requirement CPU is 2.8 ghz? Is that correct?
Thank you!!

I would say that any Asus product, such as the laptop listed below this text, would be ideal for your son.

This one is 250 dollars, and it's a great deal, www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-15-6-laptop-4gb-memory-320gb-hard-drive-brown-black/9424061.p?id=1219016114601&skuId=9424061&ref=06&loc=01&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=9424061&extensionType=

Also, all CPU's are different, for example on one CPU it could be 1.8 ghz, but on another brand, that same cpu you be 3 ghz.

Hi Suzanne,
Yes, the minimum requirement is 2.8 GHz. You also have to take GPU into consideration, as integrated video cards aren't really the best for gaming. I suggest you get a desktop instead of a laptop, because desktops generally have better CPUs and GPUs, plus more disk space and RAM. And when getting a desktop, choose wisely. Get the ones with nice CPUs, GPUs, and at least 500GB disk space and at least 8GB RAM ;) .

But if you want portability, you can get a laptop, but it won't really perform well  .

Hello Suzanne,
The Minimun requirement is indeed 2.8 GHz if you want the best performance. When you are researching a CPU make sure you look at what the performance is rated. As far as price, $400 could get you quite far since it's the holiday times and prices are dropping.
Here is a desktop:

If you want a laptop then you MUST make sure the processor is some sort of AMD A series OR Intel Core, that will get you somewhere as a start.

Thank you all for your help!! We are looking for the computer to be portable so I am looking for a laptop. Do you think this would be compatible?

That laptop would be just fine for City Car Driving.

I would mention that the Graphics card isn't exactly the best for gaming at any level..
It has an integrated Intel® HD Graphics 4000 which will play a fair few games but at very low, minimal quality settings, you may get 30fps.. which is enough to play games :)

CCD is in no way optimized for graphics cards let alone integrated graphics on laptops.. BUT it may run the game just fine :)

Mine works fine, but that's just me. It will work, but you may need to turn down the graphic settings a little bit. I can show you mine (my computer is similar to the one that you are looking at)
