TOPIC: 1.3.2 file not compatible with windows [Solved]

1.3.2 file not compatible with windows [Solved] 08 Dec 2013 09:49 #19602

I just purchased a key and I went to download the full version since I had never tried the demo or any earlier version.

First of all, I tried the download 3 times and each time the EXE was nowhere to be found. I checked wioth my Norton log and there was no trace of an entry. Usually when Norton finds a download questionable it gives me a chance to accept it or at worse it will delete it but if I search in the log I can usually retrieve it. No trace here.

Finally, I nursed the download carefully keeping the window open. I also deactivate all my firewalls and A?V. The file is in my d/l folder but when I run it as Administrator a nasty window pops up that says:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you are running. Check your computer [...] if you need a x86 [32bit] or x64[64bit] version and contact the developers.

Needless to say, I am not very happy at the moment. I own car simulator and a bunch of car games and this has never happened to me.

What should I do? The file seems OK, the size is right and I can move it, check permissions, etc . It just won;t open or launch no matter if I try as administrator or normally.

Thank you.

From which link did you download the installer?
There are 3 links on the download page for the full version. I recommend the "Full Ver. Mirror #2
" as its Mediafire and the latest installer which I know works as I uploaded it from my PC :)

What OS are you using? XP, Vista, Win7, Win8?
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @ 4.01GHz
Corsair H100, SP100 Fans @ 22°C Idle, 52°C Load
8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1333MHz
Asus R9 280X DirectCU II @ 1070MHz
OCZ Vertex 4 120GB SSD | Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Logitech G27 @ 900 Degrees

Disable your anti-virus for now, then try installing.

Best guess.. Corrupt Downloads.
Could be your connection to the servers, or you're experiencing packet loss which is corrupting the downloads.

Try the Mediafire or MEGA.co.nz links as they'd be faster and more reliable.

Re: 1.3.2 file not compatible with windows version 08 Dec 2013 10:37 #19619

Thanks for the help guys. I discovered that when I deactivated my A/V and Firewall it actually ignored my command. I was deactivating from the taskbar, then when I realized that may not be working I went to my Norton CP and there I discovered that after setting my A/V to OFF it would revert to ON when I saved.

I restarted my computer, downloaded the file again and this time my A/V was truly off and I am installing now.

Thanks again

(Moral of the story: Do not trust your A/V to be off when you switch it)
