TOPIC: Problem with Genius Twinwheel F1 and Windows 8

Problem with Genius Twinwheel F1 and Windows 8 09 Jan 2014 08:37 #21360

Hi,
I have installed Citycardriving, in windows 8 and it seems to be working. I'm attempting to use the Genius twinwheel F1 with it and having problems. I've installed the drivers, and the red led on the wheel lights up as it is supposed to.

Within citycardriving, and the controls settings, I can see the available controls settings and it says "steering wheel / joystick" is available. If the wheel is not plugged in, this option is grayed out. With the wheel plugged in, the option is available, and the car controls change based upon this selection.

However, the"apply" button and cancel buttons are grayed out in either case.

When run, the game does not respond to the wheel.

Any ideas. I need to get this working for my daughters science fair project fairly urgently.

Hello,

If you're using a racing wheel, first of all, you should assign buttons and axes in the game settings. Go to the game controls menu and set proper wheel buttons and pedal axes for all actions in the game you need. To do that you should double-click with the left mouse button on every action in the list and then push the proper button or pedal on your wheel to assign this button or pedal for this action.

This video explains this process clearly and may help you to setup your racing wheel -
