Well, I just started today and I found out pretty quick...You can't possibly drive this thing by way of the keyboard. Impossible! If there is anyone out there who can, I'd sure would like to talk to them:(

Controlling by keyboard is also supported besides wheels and gamepads. What's the problem?

You know, we're driving with keyboard all the time while developing the CCD, as it is in some ways more convenient than using steering wheels.

So you can talk to us if you will =)

I, personally, prefer to drive along opposing side lines with manual gear and speed up to 100 km/h... and I'm afraid I'm not skilled enough with the steering wheel to repeat that =)

Well, my friends, you are far better than I. I have zero control over the car using the keyboard. Driving straight is fine, but making turns is a nightmare for me. Guess I need to practice more :(

Yes, first thing is to look at the settings and tune them to suit you. And than you will definitely have to have some practice. But this is just how things work, even for steering wheel =)

Main problem of keyboard for me is oversteering. When you release the button, wheels return to straight position not immidiately, instead they can take some time (this could be adjusted). Another one is that there is no "middle position" for buttons, so, in order to make a smooth curve, I have to quickly press and release the button repeatedly. This also means that 'automatic side light switch off' feature wouldn't work correctly and should be disabled for keyboard.

g27 is a bit expensive for my use:( . I found on Amazon a Ferrari Universal 5-in-1 Challenge wheel. Only 26.00 American. Of course, you get what you pay for

P.S. I think I like this simulator, even if it does drive me a bit crazy:S

It is not always better to be fast, my friend =)
If you would *only* read all the posts of this thread, you would notice, that

Keyboard is *in some ways more convenient* when you developing the software, especially the program code.
Which does not mean I or my colleagues have no access to G27, Thrustmaster or other fancy gear.
I tried numerous steering wheels, but still using my old 'board comrade at work, thats why I think I can share something at this thread ;)
