TOPIC: Odd AI behaviour

Odd AI behaviour 23 Feb 2014 08:01 #23725

The AI in CCD is not too bad at all, they do have some intelligence in them to an extent.

But they have always done this weird thing where if you were following behind them on a road, they suddenly brake incredibly hard for no reason. It's like they're brake-checking me, and they catch me out every time! Their brakes are way too intense for the player to brake in time.

Is this a common thing? Or is it just me that experiences this rather irritating thing with the AI?

Yeah, it happens to me to. It's so annoying as you have no time to react as they brake too fast than reality.

Unfortunately, the pedestrian only follow a specific route. If you block the route, they will just wait.
More complicated pedestrian behaviour would be better.

Or you could just run them over and hear the squeal?

Exactly. I didn't think it was just me. They only do this when you're behind them; never when your next to them in a lane or something.

Yes, I've been VERY tempted to mow them down. However, I try to restrain myself. Not an easy thing when they step out in front of you at the crosswalk. I swear, one of them actually tried to get to the crosswalk before I did. Like he was almost running. I think I beat him but I still got 1000 penalty points. Lovely!!
