I don't see how the C2Q PC would be laggy whereas my Pentium 4 runs it fine (with HD 3850) on minimum settings.

Surely the optimisations aren't that bad?

By the way, CCD is the only game I play, so nothing else needs to be considered.

I would start with 4gb Ram, then upgrade to 8. I know it won't affect gaming that much, but it's what I would do.

I was going to get a system with an i5, but couldn't find one I liked and I don't have the time to buy and assemble everything. I don't like AMD CPUs either.

Is there anyone out there who actually uses a C2Q system who can comment?

How to make that run on high settings-
3.0 GHz core 2 quad
AMD 7750 video card
Windows 7
6 GB DDR2ram.
Then overclock your core 2 quad and video card. Auto-clock.
My settings could be some help. I run on high settings.
AMD A6 Accelerated processor Quad-Core 3400m @4.4GHz
AMD Radeon HD 6520
6GB DDR2 ram

I will eventually upgrade to a C2Q q9650 which is 3ghz. I don't like OCing, I like to keep everything as normal.

Simulationdude: Have have run CCD on a C2Q? Or do you just know that those specs would run high settings?

I'm not particularly interested on running on high settings. I'll be perfectly happy with mid range settings. I will use a HD 7750, unless there is something better yet still low profile, I couldn't find anything.

Thank you everyone for your advice. Usually I know what would be good myself but I couldn't find anything about CCD performance on C2Q.

For CCD, video card is most important in rendering the graphics. RAM and CPU is pretty much irrelevant. My CPU usage remains less than 20% and the game takes up less than 3GB of RAM.
