TOPIC: G27 to practice driving?

G27 to practice driving? 27 Nov 2014 20:29 #37290

Hello all,

I've been playing City car driving for a couple of weeks now, and I am enjoying it. However i am using an xbox controller and the steering is pretty terrible, and very hard to use the clutch.

I am currently doing my driving lessons in a manual car, and am strongly considering getting a G27 to help improve my steering and clutch control. I just have a few questions.

Currently how similar is the G27 + city car driving to driving in the real world?

Do you get a good feel of the car? Is there any force feedback?

This will probably be the only driving game I will play (maybe some Colin mcrae). Do you think it is worth spending £200 on a G27, or should I spend the money on more lessons?

Logitech G27 is a very good and realistic steering wheel it's worth your money for sure it has a really good clutch and force feedback it also has a 900 degree rotation I have one and I would highly recommend buying one for this game
That thing got a hemi?

The only thing is, it's a pain in the ass to hook it up and all.
6 years on the forum, not very active, but I am still glad to help.

That is so true it's a realistic steering wheel but it can be a pain in the ass to hook up :S

Hello,

If you're using a racing wheel, first of all, you should assign buttons and axes in the game settings. Go to the game controls menu and set proper wheel buttons and pedal axes for all actions in the game you need. To do that you should double-click with the left mouse button on every action in the list and then push the proper button or pedal on your wheel to assign this button or pedal for this action.

This video explains this process clearly and may help you to setup your racing wheel -

Kivlov, merci pour cette vidéo:) ! Malheureusement ::(

Merci !

Cécile

I would recommend my wheel (Fanatec Gt2) over the g27, the CSW shifter is also quite a bit better and having used both I can say that the force feedback and general feel of the wheel is more accurate to real life than the G27 although they are both great wheels.

You should be able to find the GT2 second hand on eBay as I have but do get it with pedals and shifter!
