when i play the game, I usually want to play at 80% to 100% traffic because that is a bit more interesting and fun than doing it regularly at like 20% to 60%. But when I play the game, even on the lowest settings it lags horribly.

I was wondering what hardware upgrades you guys would recommend for better performance in this game.
Here are computer's specs:

System

Total amount of system memory 12.0 GB RAM
System type 64-bit operating system
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz
Number of processor cores 2

Storage

Total size of hard disk(s) 917 GB
Disk partition (C:) 416 GB Free (917 GB Total)
Media drive (D:) CD/DVD

Graphics

Display adapter type NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti
Total available graphics memory 4096 MB
Dedicated graphics memory 2048 MB
Dedicated system memory 0 MB
Shared system memory 2048 MB
Display adapter driver version 9.18.13.4411
Primary monitor resolution 1920x1080
DirectX version DirectX 10

So, any tips guys?
Also, should I upgrade the processor? I find it hard to believe that this game consumes more graphical power (yes, it does have to render all the buildings, trees, cars and blah blah blah) than say, ets2... i could be wrong, but whatever
The processor is pretty weak though... ._.

Only bad thing I see with your setup is your CPU an I5 or better should fix a lot of this. Most games now are depended on CPU's. I have an I5 2500K which is an older CPU but I have it OCed to 4.3ghz as soon as I OCed it I gained 20-30 fps on most games. I can run this game with 80% traffic with no problem I stay at a constant 60fps on my Nvidia 660. I also have 12 megs of ram but you have a better card I have a better CPU.

My personal problem with this is that I have a MacBook Pro (I use Bootcamp).

I have an i7, 8 GB of RAM and 1 TB hard disk.

The bad thing about my hardware, though, is that the graphic card is an Intel HD 4000 (and because it's a Mac, I can't change it).

So what I ended up doing was using Intel Extreme Utility to overclock it, and the game runs slightly better.

Since you have an Intel processor, try downloading the software and see if that helps.

"I also have 12 megs of ram"
i can't help but say that i'm quite impressed that you have a gpu with 12mb ram XD
ik that is irrevelant and all but i've never heard of anything like it before

anyways, Pierre, maybe i'll try overclocking the CPU or something.
I'll probably end up replacing it, or i may be forced to just get an entirely new PC, since what I currently have is just an upgraded desktop.
it originally had just 6gb ram, the same CPU, and some intel hd graphics GPU integrated with the motherboard... so basically, it is quite tight in the case XD

I'll definitely do something about the pretty weak CPU.
Thanks for the tips guys!

Also, I have the same problem with my laptop as well, it's running windows 8 and has an intel hd graphics 4000. It sucks, since the laptop was really expensive and only had an integrated GPU...
It also has an i7, 8gb ram and the hard disk is either 900 or 1000 gb

Ugh, that moment when you purchase a really expensive laptop and realize that it is still worthless because of it's horrible integrated GPU... :P

Eh, I'll probably look into getting a better CPU, because I would rather have a longer lasting CPU than one that would be faster, but would last a shorter time than it should.
But yeah, thanks for the help guys!

Maybe your laptop has switchable graphics! Go to Device Manager in the Control Panel and look by Display Adapters (or something like that).
If there is an Intel HD 4000 and a nVidia/AMD then you'll have switchable graphics and you can play the game with the better card!

Example (it's in Dutch): gyazo.com/dc4c8d75b6f0905c7a7c2e5f0435d9d7

Let me know if it was succesful!
My PC specs:
Intel Core i5 6600 3.3 GHZ up to 3.9 GHZ
MSI GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING X 6G
16GB DDR4-2133 RAM
250 GB Samsung 960 Evo m.2 SSD + 750GB Crucial MX300 SSD
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

My steering wheel:
Logitech G27
