TOPIC: Fences and trees are pixelated even on MSAAx8

Fences and trees are pixelated even on MSAAx8 04 Jun 2015 08:15 #46160

I think the antialiasing doesn't do it's job properly and needs to be fixed.
Please take a look at the jaggies on the tree leaves and the fence.

What's more, when the graphics mode is set to DirectX 11 the anti aliasing doesn't work at all. It's getting worse and worse with every minute. I had no idea that game will be such an OCD nightmare.

I've found out that in in nVidia Inspector I can force the SGSSAA x4 and the game is beautiful, but it's working only in DirectX 9, so I miss the multithreaded renderer and vsync(also forced in inspector, but contrary to antialiasing it's working in DirectX 11 only!) so now I have two options:

1. DirectX9 - A nice SGSSAA antialiasing, no vsync, 30fps
OR
2. DirectX 11 - Jaggies, decent fps, mostly 60, working vsync.

This is doing my head in! Do the developers even care about it, or I'm talking to myself and wasting my time?

Sir,

The developers are doing their upmost to optimize the game. Yes, it is pretty laggy for the graphics, and there are some bugs in DX 11, but you are getting much better performance than most people!

I suggest lowering one of the settings in DX9 (e.g. visual range) to increase your FPS, as lowering this significantly increases frame rate.

I am using an Intel HD 4000, combined with an Intel core i7 2.9 GHz w/ turbo boost up to 3.9 GHz, and I'm getting around 25 fps! My GPU is pretty bad, however I overclock and when I put a pack of ice under my computer, I can usually get up to 35 FPS.

In conclusion, you are getting extremely good performance from this game (as you said earlier everything was on high), and I am getting extremely good performance for my GPU :)
This game is made for DX 9 mostly (as most of the mods), so I recommend using that instead of DX 11.

Thanks for your advice, but I'd rather stick with dx11 as I refuse to play any game that doesn't let me to switch the vsync on.

Why so much hate against DX 9?

Poor fps due to lack of multithreaded renderer and forcing vsync in Inspector doesn't work.

But what you say kind of contradicts your point about FPS as Vsync lowers the FPS of your game.

No, it doesn't if you know what's the whole point of the vsync then you shouldn't ask that kind of questions. I appreciate the smoothness of a game. When your game runs at 65 fps without vsync on it stutters, but I'm sure you know that.

Yes, I am aware of that, however when running the game ~30 fps it will usually boost a few fps up if you disable Vsync.
