Hello,

So it seems we have ruled out all the graphics/car/in game options.

I think we should start looking into the game files to see if it is possible to manually edit the value of the mirror's position. I'll start looking, but I can't make any promises right now as my exams start on Sunday until Thursday :( .

Also, support might have an answer for you (again, no promises): This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (it's a mailing address).

Best,

PS: I like your profile pic. At least this is the only bug there seems to be

Does it happen if you fully exit the game between sessions?
Yes, also when I restart my computer. Only deleting the C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\Forward Development\City Car Driving folder removes the bug, at least until I start driving again.

No need to make you guys guess for things :) I'm hoping this will help find the problem ASAP so I can finally get to driving.

If possible I would first like to know if anyone can reproduce this problem on their machine. If yes, then you could look into the game files on your system. Otherwise I will investigate my game files and share the details, if anyone can give me some tips where to look.

One thing I haven't tried yet is making a new user account and running the game on that, to test the 1% chance that maybe this is a file permissions problem. At the moment I log in to the computer with a normal user account (no admin privileges), then run the game by right-clicking it and picking "Run as administrator". Another related thing I could try is disabling DEP (Data Execution Prevention) for the game.

If it turns out that the problem cannot be reproduced on your systems, then my next step will be to install Windows XP on my machine and trying it there. Because if this is somehow a problem with my installation only, then instead of investigating further it will probably cost less time to just make a new installation.

I mailed them and got a reply within 6 minutes that they are looking into it. So far so good.

Gotta see the fun in the situation :)
How can mirrors be real if our eyes aren't real?

Ok, tech support has confirmed the bug and says it will be fixed with the next update. I'm hoping it will appear soon.

Meanwhile I'm just wondering, how do all you guys drive with 1.4.1? Do you simply never adjust the mirrors?

Dear users,

Yesterday I bought CCD 1.4 and installed it. I run the game on one 1680 x 1050 display with a HD 4850 graphics card.

The first time after starting the program I went straight to Free Driving with all the default settings. In this session I managed to adjust my mirrors so that you can barely see your own car anymore, just part of the back door was left. If I wanted to, I could have set the mirrors so wide that you couldn't see your own car anymore at all.

After the first session I lowered some of the graphics settings to achieve better fps. The default settings weren't horrible, but just slightly laggy. Now my problem is: ever since I changed the graphics settings, somehow my freedom in adjusting the mirrors has been restricted severely. Here is a picture:

I can push the button all I want, it will go no further than that. Perhaps I am overlooking something obvious here. Could anyone help me adjust my mirrors properly?

The obvious solution would be to return all graphics settings to the originals, but that didn't work.

Thanks and best regards,

Arnie

How did you get the mirror changing thing? I don't get it. Did your Download come with part of 1.4.2
