TOPIC: System requirements for older CCD versions?

Re: System requirements for older CCD versions? 03 Jul 2015 19:48 #47305

LOL!!! Yes David, I KNOW that.... I can read, which is why I asked at the beginning of this thread what the system requirements are/were for a very old version of the game, but nobody seems to know what the system requirement spec was for say 1.2.5, even the support guys dont know, which I find rather odd. Besides, 1.2.5 is just as much fun to drive as 1.4.1 for a 5 year old child. Spoutnik brought up the suggestion of overclocking, and if it is worth trying, I'll do that....

Honestly, on the dual core you are running, it won't make much of a difference because of the cores and hyper threading. If you have the money, buy a new CPU. If you need help finding one, just tell me the socket type and I'll do some research.

Logically, of course it won't be the same; CCD 1.3 has new road textures/many graphical innovations, so it will need higher specs.

Besides, back when 1.2 was release, the computers were less advanced then now, so the min. configuration should be lower.

I have an Intel 2 Duo and overclocked it. Honestly, I've found my game gains around 5 FPS as it has a good fan.

The problem with a lot of other desktops is that the fans pick up dust and needs to be blown out with an air duster.

I did this with my Dad's Intel i7 in his laptop and it improved the CPU speed more than you would expect.

Anyway, for the OP, if you would be open the this, I would recommend building a desktop. It is cheaper than buying a prebulit, and you can max it out more because of the variety of parts. I would be willing to help you out with finding parts if you were open the this idea.

Thanks.. Its a socket 775... but then I would have to reinstall windows etc, and all of the programs, not so? I think the kid can live with it... I'll do a FRAPS test to see what she is running....

I don't think you would have to reinstall that stuff as it doesn't alter the hard drive.

I recommend just using v1.2.5/overclocking, there's no need to get a new PC to slightly alter the FPS on a simulator.

Overclocking won't do much on his CPU because of the lack of cores and just the age in general. It's an old CPU so it still won't run very well with overclocking.
