I'm sure this has been suggested, but after playing ATS for a while and then going back to City Car Driving, the transition between not having constant force feedback is hard. Would make the game 10x better if I constantly felt every bump on the road, and the steering wheel vibrated consistently as opposed to what it does now. I don't know if this is a easy thing to add, but it'd certainly be great!

In some cars, the dashboard indicators are barely visible. Would it be possible to implement a zoom for the dashboard? In this way, the elements would look perfect. So it would also be possible to create a small on-board computer.

Mod requests 06 Sep 2019 16:11 #112955

Hello everybody,
I would like to suggest several modifications that make the gameplay of City Car Driving even more realistic.

1. Drive mode:

Actually, there are different driving modes in almost every car these days. I would like to suggest that the standard in accordance with the modes (Comfort, Sport and Sport +) brings in the game. There should be an API for mod developers to decide for themselves what modes their vehicle should have, what names the mods have and what they can do, e.g. comfort, switching speeds are lower, gas intake is worse, e.g. Sport, gears slightly higher and the gas intake better, e.g. Sport +, gears very high and the gas directly. Of course, for hybrid vehicles the Eco mode.

2. More realistic NPC's

My profile is based on German driving rules. Now it is true that on the highway is not a legal driving requirement (at least no one is off) and always the left lane for speeding npc's are occupied, which drive only 65km / h. Something would be almost life-threatening in Germany xD It is shit that if you want to go through with 300 km / h then on the left track (You may only overtake links) is always a NPC, which slows down to 60kmh or the track totally busy.

I do not have any more to deal with, because the mod sound bug is already fixed :D I hope that the points that I have mentioned will also be introduced into the game, which would be awesome :P

Kind regards

Support for metallic paints will be nice and native support for reverse camera without deleting a center mirror.

A few things piss me off.

Im in the UK cars are set up for left side drive in the uk we drive in the right side of our car.

I have a G920 with the driving force shifter, when I stear I have to turn 20 - 40% more than what the wheel turns in game no matter how much i change sencitivity and finally the trottle seams to be so sencitive if a feather lands on it im at 30% throttle.

I sugest intergrating a calibration tool.

Untill these changes are made I will be doing a steam refund as the sim isnt playable for me.

1) Not every car is setup for right-hand drive - only the ute and the Holden sedan are.
2) The wheel will always be slightly off - the game, like a real car, has a steering wheel that turns 1080 degrees, where the Logitech wheels only turn 900.
3) You can change pedal sensitivity settings using the calibration tools in the advanced controls menu.

Please disable MD5 file checking to let us mod XML and lua file or whatever we want

I had to RE the Starter.exe file to patch it this way
calc_md5(&calc_md5_return, file);
    file_md5 = &calc_md5_return;
    if ( v77 >= 0x10 )
      file_md5 = (void **)calc_md5_return;
    expected_md5 = file_md5 ;

if ( *file_md5 != *expected_md5 ) // Always match, never true condition

You are promoting the ability to mod the game but when we edit a file we get "Some files are corrupted" error
This is completly useless it doens't repair the file it does just avoid ppl from playing a modded game

KSP is a good exemple of moddable game, there is API and you can load DLL into the game as well as editing anything you want, please do the same

We can"t even just change the MD5 table in the Starter.exe it will throw the error so we have to patch the behavior of the checking it's not easy for everybody so I guess anyone who tried even with computer science skill had gave up

I attach the BSDIFF file for the steam 1.5.6 Starter.exe file
I think ppl aren't dumb and they will only edit the things they understand and backup their game before doing it and like I said beffore your MD5 check is useless without a repairing tool

Newer, more realistic physics are a must... These vehicles handle like they have absolutely no mass what-so ever. Some sort of suspension improvements would be nice, to make the vehicles sway from side to side during a sharp turn, or nose-dive when the brakes are put on very very hard.

Vehicle grip seems to be yet another questionable thing, sometimes it just seems like the cars are floating a small bit above the road when the brakes are applied, so the vehicle is unable to steer at all, when the brakes are being applied.

Also, a V-Sync option, or a FPS limiter would be great, so the FPS are more consistent and not overheating/overworking the computer. This may also solve some sudden FPS drops and jitters the game portrays for an unknown reason.

Vehicle sounds need to be greatly improved if not completely re-done, as most of the vehicle's sounds have a lot of static/popping/clipping even at low volumes, and some engine sounds more robotic/artificial than other engine sounds. Also, the fastest wiper speed sounds should not have it's pitch raised, as I have never heard a windscreen wiper go from sounding normal on speeds 1 and 2, only to have it sound like a chipmunk on speed 3.

An option for disabling the vehicle damage textures would also be helpful. Since driving up an uneven road surface, may trigger the damage system , and cause the vehicle to appear greatly damaged.

Rear lamp(s), and turning indicator, and reverse light reflections on the ground, and on object(s) very close by would add a good deal of realism to this simulator. This would also aid the user in seeing in the mirrors, if they are reversing in the dark, as the closer they get to an object, the brighter their light reflections will be.

Improved rain texture, or a multi-level selector for users to choose a low-quality rain texture for the windows (similar to it now), and a higher quality rain texture (that looks at tad better than just odd grey/dark lines).

The GAZ-3110 (look-alike) built in car, lacks an automatic transmission. The real-world GAZ-3110 does have a 4-speed "Aisin Warner Automatic" transmission as an option.

Next vehicle suggested: Small passenger minivan, based off of the VAZ-2120 (Lada Nadezhda)
