What exactly cars?

@Kivlov, Robots? Is that what traffic lights are called in your country? How cool.

@IluvAutoGames, What do you mean by asking which cars have this problem? The complaint (which I share) is the fact that the light will turn green and everybody sits there like the light never changed. Then if/when they do move on the green light, they stop again after crossing over the crosswalk. Then usually the lights turn red before I can enter the intersection. Many times I wind up sitting at a traffic light for two or three rotations before I can actually traverse the intersection.
But this problem has another half. Cars and pedestrians will enter the intersection when there is not enough time for them to clear it. This means that since the lights turn red while cars are still in the middle of the intersection they will stop because cross traffic is trying to enter the intersection.
When I enter an intersection on a green light and there is a car stopped in the middle I can usually drive around the back side of the car as long as I don't have to aim too far to the right, otherwise I will get a right of way violation... when I'm moving on a green light. Stupid. If I drive by the front of the car it is hit or miss whether I get a right of way violation. Even stupider. Either way, I should not be violated for moving through a green light, and cars should not stop once they have entered the intersection unless they are turning left or waiting for the crosswalk to clear.
During the infamously irritating Advanced City Test, these events set the above described behaviour as default traffic behaviour, causing the student to sit through three or four rotations of the traffic light before being able to continue. Then to make matters worse is this situation:

Sitting at a red light waiting to turn left. The light turns green and I move into the middle of the intersection and wait for oncoming traffic and the crosswalk to clear.
At this time these things usually happen:
1. Oncoming traffic won't enter the intersection even if I wait behind the stop line.
2. Because it is impossible to see the flashing turn signals of the oncoming cars from across the intersection, I
don't know if they are waiting because they want to turn forcing me to guess. If I guess wrong and try to turn
I get violated.
3. In real life when this happens it is because the front car in both lanes want to turn in the respective
directions and must wait for peds/oncoming traffic. In the game cars wanting to go straight will wait at the
green light even when the intersection is unblocked. In RL when this happens it is OK to turn in front of the
waiting and totally not moving cars as you do not have to wait for stupid people whom refuse to enter the
intersection. In the game I am violated.
4. This forces me to sit and wait in the middle of the intersection until the light turns yellow when (according
to real life driving rules) I am forced to clear the intersection as the lights are about to turn red. When
the light turns yellow the cars waiting suddenly decide it's finally time to move. If they do I must obviously
continue to wait. If I turn before the car that I was waiting for crosses the crosswalk behind me then I am
violated for intersection right of way even though the car has already passed me and the lane I want to turn
to. This causes me to have to wait in the middle of the intersection for too long and I am again violated for
both intersection right of way and moving on a red light.
5. Worst of all is that it seems players used to be able to fix the traffic behaviour in the files to suit their needs.
Now we get corrupted files error for making minor adjustments, even when we know it is done correctly. It is as if the devs know it's buggered and the only thing decided to do about it was to put a checker in the exe to give us corrupted files error to prevent us from adjust things like disabling or reducing the traffic density or AI driving crisis, or want to drive our own car for that specific mission.

Another example can be found in how I fixed the whole turn signal frackery. When turning through an intersection, 80% of the time I am violated for inopportune turn signal. This is bad English.
This kind of phrase has no meaning in English. Inopportune means inconvenient. Words that follow inopportune are usually "moment" "time" or "timing", and even still only eccentric people who like to show off their I.Q. use phrases like "inopportune timing". Normally we'd use the word inconvenient. How can using a turn signal be inconvenient unless the driver is annoyed by having to use it? I even double checked the dictionary to try to figure out why this phrase was chosen.
A example of inopportune timing for a turn signal would be when one of those fracky AI drivers dives across three lanes to slam on his brakes to purposefully cause me hit him, and I am forced to worry about using my turn signal while trying to avoid an accident. That is what in English is called an inopportune time to have to use a turn signal. (<-Note, this is how the phrase is supposed to be used in English.)
There is no such thing as bad timing when using a turn signal. You either use it, or you don't. It is like being pregnant. An inopportune pregnancy would be getting pregnant at an inconvenient time of her life. So how is it bad timing if I turn on the turn signal before I enter the intersection (as in before crossing the crosswalk), and manually cut it off after leaving the intersection (as in after crossing the crosswalk), and the turn signal is blinking for the entire time?
In real life this violation doesn't even exist as stated or implemented in game. It is totally different from the failure to use the turn signal penalty. In game I left that one active, but even that has a habit of telling me I didn't use my turn signal when I actually did, or telling me I used the wrong signal when I actually used the correct one. Aggravating but infrequent enough to almost ignore.
This tangent serves to show how the game luckily let me disable this bad turn signal timing checker focockta without the corrupted files error.

In conclusion, the problem isn't with the cars. It's with the code that controls them. Which cars do it? Isn't it obvious that the only cars that can cause this kind problem are the cars at the head of the queue? It's not the cars, it's the cars' controller. In RL when you see someone sitting at a green light, is the assumption that it's because they are driving a Ford (despite how often they are Found On Roads Dead)? Or is it understood that the problem lies with that which controls the car, the driver; or in our case the AI.

I've been playing the game off and on, but today I'm having a problem where the game will run fine for a few minutes and then it'll stop working without an error message. I've already tried reinstalling the game and that didn't work. :(
6 years on the forum, not very active, but I am still glad to help.

Yes, it would be useful to check the problem on a completely clean game, but make sure you've deleted all traces of mods. So please do everything as we usually suggest for cleaning the game from mods:

1. Unsubscribe from all mods.

2. Uninstall the game in Steam.

3. Manually delete the folder, where the game has been installed (it will remain after uninstallation) – …\Steam\SteamApps\common\City Car Driving

4. Turn off the Steam cloud profile synchronization for City Car Driving.

5. Delete the folder "Forward Development" from your "My Documents" folder.

6. Install the game again.

No, we do not call traffic lights robots in our country. :) Did you mixed up me and IluvAutoGames, didn't you? IluvAutoGames said this happened only on some of the cars. That's why I asked - on what exactly cars.

I found the rule "hindrance to the vehicle moving in the same direction" make city driving test impossible to pass. The rule will be triggered even when I keep my car in the line (not changing line) and decelerate for the traffic light ahead. This is really annoying. Please help to fix this bug. If necessary, I can provide my driving record file which is around 800MB.

Hello. You can use the built-in recording feature, its size will be smaller.
