I have read elsewhere in the forums that you will need to pay for these updates. Users who have already bought the game, will have a huge discount (70% I think).

Large add-ons will be paid (with huge discount ~75% for customers of older versions), small patches will be free.

1.2 will include all 1.0 content. So, total amount will be 25$ in any case.

You can buy 1.0 now (for 20$) and 1.2 with discount (for 5$) latter. Total 25$.
Or if you didn't buy 1.0 you can buy 1.2 after its' release (for 25$) and get all features of 1.0 and 1.2. Total 25$.
