That picture/screenshot isnt from my computer, i think it was from Patrick1992 that also posted in this forum, i dont get that info when my game/software crashes, just that it tells me that it has encountered an error and the software is forced to close, i get no report or anything saying that it is
because of directx, graphicssoftware stops responding or anything, just that i have to close the software.

Also i tried to attach the file, but it it doesnt show up on my post.

Can you explain me what kind of OS you are running on?
And what kind of pc system.

If you are sure you have been installing all c++ programs from Microsoft then that should be fine.

1. Try reinstalling
2. Try deleting the whole game include registery files from City Car Driving (Dont expect me to tell you which ones :P) and install it again.
3. try installing it on another pc.

Sorry if this didnt help you.

1. Tried to reinstall several times with no success.
2. Also tried that.

I use windows 7 64-bit ultimate
intel i7 920 @ 3.2GHz
ATi HD Radeon 5870 1GB

Then if you ask me it should be something with the game and not your system :S

Yeah i know,

It worked perfect in the beginning, and then suddenly it wouldnt start, havent been able to use the software for months now.

Every other software/game works without any problems, so it has to be within the software itself.

But since i dont get a errormessage just that it is forced to close then i got nothing to go at,

reinstalling, updating/reinstalling drivers have had no progress at all, but everything else works.

Really strange to be honest.

I just bought the 1.2 version of this simulator.

Same issues there, i have uninstalled 1.0, deleted all the keys in the registry for version 1.0
downgraded my K-Lite 7.10 Full to the 5.90 Basic that comes with the software.

Deleted all microsoft visual c++ and installed those 2 c++ that came with the software.

Still i get starter.exe is not responding and its forced to close without any errormessage.

There has to be something that solves this, i have tried everything, updated/downgraded every single
file for directx, c++, k-lite, graphicscard, soundcard, media player/divx/xvid/quicktime/media classic
etc etc.

Nothing works, the 1.0 wasnt working for months and i have tried on this forum and still no success,
if the 1.2 is a standalone it should work tbh with installing all the files neccessary.

This is starting to get a bit frustrating when nothing works.

I think you must to format your PC.

every other software works without any issues, i can watch movies, play games, FIFA 11, Operation Flashpoint, Dirt 3 and 2, NFS Shift 2 etc etc play mmo's like WoW and surfing the web etc etc.

Everything there works without any issues but this software refuses to start.

So there has to do with the software itself where it triggers some file that prompts the software to a forced close.

There is a bug some where in this game that causes this problems. Its not hes pc nor software.
Something you could try is reinstall your OS (pretty sure that fix it) But this is annoying i know.

I tried to delete the logo.avi and change it with another videofile i renamed to logo.avi

Sadly no success, same error over and over again, "starter.exe as stopped working"

Got all the latest codecs and everything and everything else works without any errors, games, videos, internet and all that, only this simulator that wont run.
However, I still think that problem is hiding in video playback and codecs. By half all symptoms are very similar. So, let's groove in this way.

Your video file that you've renamed and put instead of original AVI file - are you sure that this file was in AVI format? This file must be only in AVI format. For example, effect will not be reached if you rename and put any of MPG or WMV file instead of original. Maybe you should try to put different files instead of original?

And, of course this new AVI file should be playable by your Windows Media Player.

Hey buddy, the same thing is happening to me only I have never had it working it was my first time using this. Everything is up to date like you stated and I have tried replacing the video. I have bought this game and can't even get the thing working... Is there any thing else you could suggest to fix this error?

Yes, the avi file i replaced was another avi file.

It works to play all videofiles as standalone avi, mpeg, divx etc etc, also tried to open those in
Windows Media Player, Media player classic, divx and the logo.avi file and every other videofile works
without problem, it is just when i try to start the software it stops responding for some strange reason.
