You either have a forward development folder OR a multisoft folder, you only have one. (it depends on the version of the game-the Russian version has a multisoft folder)

This may seem weird, but does you sound work? I had a similar problem, and at the same time my sound would not work. I simply went on a webpage with no sound and after a while the sound worked and so did the game. I don't know how the two are connected, but you may experience a similar issue.

If its not that, then i don't know what to do, apart from e-mailing support and asking them.

I solved my problem. Since I have no speakers I play with headphones. When I attempted to play yesterday I had no headphones put on thus the game didn't start (I'm assuming this has something with the game's audio files). I took note of Stryder237's comment and it gave me the headphones idea. So when i started the game the "starter.exe" didn't pop up. Wew

I feel extremely stupid. I made a fool out of myself HAHAHA.

You shouldn't feel stupid-its pretty dumb for the game not to work if the sound is off. Its especially annoying if your sound is broken and no way to fix it.

Unfortunately, it's an issue of our sound engine.

I haven't had a problem for a long time which was with mods but that was fixed long ago... Now... I have the starter.exe has stopped working error. Here is what happens:

1. I launch the game
2. The screen turns black for a few seconds (First few times it turned white not black)
3. Then the screen turns white
4. A window pops up saying: "Starter.exe has stopped working, windows will look for a solution".
5. Then it says "Starter.exe has stopped working" Close Program.
6. And so I am forced to close the program

No other information is shown...
I have downloaded visual c++ from microsoft and the 1.2.2 patch...
I don't really know what I should do. Please help if you can... :(

First of all - try deleting folders "Multisoft" and/or "Forward Development" from your "My Documents" folder.

I forgot to mention in the post at first that I have already tried that twice but anyway I tried it for the third time and it still doesn't work... Anything else I could do? I might insist on re-downloading the game...

Try fully deleting and then re-installing the game again according to these steps:

1. Uninstall the game from the "Programs and components" menu in the control panel.

2. Manually delete the folder, where the game has been installed (if it will remain after uninstallation).

3. Delete folders "Multisoft" and/or "Forward Development" from your "My Documents" folder.

4. Install the game again (using the latest distributive from our official web site) and surely run the distribution kit with administrator privileges (right click on it and choose "Run as administrator" in the context menu). During the installation process you should agree on installing all additional software, because it's necessary for correct program operation.
