Hi guys I'm new here. :)

I bought the game when I was running Windows XP and now I have Windows 8 the game hangs up after I have put the activation code in and it tells me I now need to enter a security code. A box appears titled 'Enter Key' but it carries on trying to load and remains empty apart from the title of the box. I can't get any further than this. :(

Has anyone got a fix for this problem please?

Cheers guys
Hello,

If after entering the activation key the game says that key is accepted and stored, but then it's still continuing to ask for the security key, you should run the game with administrator privileges (right click on its' shortcut and choose "Run as administrator" in the context menu). Then enter your activation key again, and the game will not ask for the key anymore.

Thank you Kivlov for the quick reply but unfortunately it still doesn't work and if I start the process again I still have to put in the 'Activation Key' although it keeps telling me it is stored and I still get the 'Enter Key' window and everything is still the same as described in the first instance. :S

Are there any more ideas that I can try please?

Thank you

Try to re-install as administrator.

The problem still persists.

I haven't even received any notification when I have registered the game after putting the 'Activation Code' in. I must have tried to activate the game around 10 times+ now.

Try these steps:

1. Turn of the UAC - windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/turn-user-account-control-on-or-off

2. Temporary turn off any antivirus or firewall software.

After that run the game as administrator (right click on its' shortcut and choose "Run as administrator" in the context menu) and enter your activation key again.

You can try also this:

Our game activation key interface form is based on the Internet Explorer engine. If such problems with the activation appear – they may be connected with the problems with the Internet Explorer or antivirus/firewall software. If you’ve already disabled your antivirus/firewall software, lets continue our tries with the Internet Explorer itself.

So, please carefully follow these steps:

1. Disable/Remove all excess plugins, which usually accumulated by the Internet Explorer during the web surfing. Some of these plugins and Active X components may prevent some Internet Explorer functions from correct working. And if such happens it may also make our activation window malfunction. Here’s a detailed illustrated instruction how to disable/remove Plugins and ActiveX components in the Internet Explorer – www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-remove-unwanted-addons-from-internet-explor.html Try to disable all of them.

2. Reset all your Internet Explorer configuration settings to the default values. This may be done with accordance of this instruction – support.microsoft.com/kb/923737/en

3. Try updating your Internet Explorer to the latest version from the Microsoft web site – windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/download-ie

4. Install all available updates for your PC (Windows operation system) and other Microsoft products. You can do it using the “Microsoft Update” (or “Windows Update”) shortcut in your Windows “Control panel”. Details about updating your Windows operation system are on the Microsoft web site – windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/help/windows-update

Hi Kivlov,

I must admit my head is not in a good place at the moment for giving your suggestions a try. I've had a headache for a few days now and probably will be best to wait until I'm feeling up to the task mate.

Thank you again for you much appreciated help.

Catch you soon I hope.

I see that you are having problems as well. See did you try running it in administrator mode. I had the same problem and this seemed to help me so try that but right clicking the City Driving Simulator and click "Run as administrator" hope this helped if it didn't reply to this and I will see if I can find another solution.
