I know that you can change colors, but is there a way to make something like that in the picture below?

If its a newer mod, you can probably find a texture that looks similar to this in the textures folder. If so, you can paint the lines on there.

If the mod doesnt have one of them, then you need to import the mod to 3DS Max, and then detach the parts you want to change the colour of and then export it as two different parts.

It isnt easy to do that.
