Earlier today I had a random shower thought; how do I make a mod? I think it'd be interesting to make a youtube video series on how to make mods.
I did some small research before posting this, and it looks like most people use 3DSMAX, however I only have access to blender atm due to the price of 3DS.
So, I was wondering if blender would work ok- then what's the programming process, animations, extras, and sounds??? Thank you!

Hello,

The only program which supports the required Nebula2 plugin for exporting to the game is 3DS Max 9 - Therefore, you cannot use Blender. It is not possible to purchase 3DS Max 9 anymore, so a download is provided in the tutorial.

3DS Max 9 isn't available for purchase anymore. The only way to use it is to use the crack serial. So even if you want to pay for it, you can't.

Looking at the download part, please can you highlight the options I need.
There is 3Ds max at the top, all the plugins (what is the patch?), Paint.net I’ve already got, Photoshop I will not download. Is this correct?

SP2 patch is only needed if 3DS Max 9 isn't working correctly. For me, it works without the patch.

As long as you download the 4 parts, and then the nmaxtoolbox plugin.

You can skip 3DS Max 2013. A student copy or trial of any newer version of 3DS Max will work just fine.
