Huge pickup trucks and SUVs in USA should be banned because they take up too much space and use more gasoline. In some countries, people have to buy small cars because price of gasoline, insurance, and/or taxes is too high.

In the Philippines (my country) diesel fuel is much cheaper than gasoline because it is not taxed for the sake of public transport vehicles like jeepneys and buses, and gasoline-powered pickup trucks and SUVs are quite rare here. There are also small diesel-powered hatchbacks here which aim for fuel economy, like the Hyundai Accent CRDi or the old Ford Focus, so big cars are no problem in the Philippines, except for those who really do not have money and can buy only small cars :) .
