In the dev car topic several of you mentioned you play RoR.

A few weeks ago Beamng came out after long last. It is made by the same people as RoR and is it's spiritual successor, so to speak. It is based on the Torque 3D engine and has great graphics. The physics are better and proper game modes are planned. (It has AI right now that you can chase or be chased by)

It's currently in alpha and a tech demo is available for free-you get alpha access for £10/$15. You will get all updates for free if you buy now-it will be more later.

Official trailer:

There's a trillion videos on youtube more more carnage.

I have bought it if you want to ask any questions.

It's a bit expensive. I won't use Torrent though. I mean its not expensive but it sucks that it costs money. That is probably the only difference between this and RoR. The only reason i am glad about CCD not having though's graphics is because it would be extremely hard to run (not like it isn't already)

Sorry for not editing but i am excited about this

The requirements are SOOOOO steep.

High End Requirements

CPU: recent Quad-core processor with hyper-threading (8 threads) (the more cores, the better) <--- kind of where my new laptop is. Quad-Core however only 4 threads (i think)
RAM: 8GB DDR3
GPU: GTX 680 or Radeon HD 7950 or better (>1GB Video RAM)
Windows 7

Ram: My new laptop has 6 gigs, planning on upgrading to 8 or 16.

Moderate Requirements

CPU: Dual-core processor with hyper-threading (4 threads)
RAM: 4GB DDR3
GPU: GTX 560, Radeon 7870 or equivalent and above (>1GB Video RAM)
Windows 7

Minimum Requirements

CPU: Dual-core processor <--- Where my old laptop is (even though single core it is powerful)
RAM: 4GB
GPU: Something better than integrated graphics (at least 512MB Video RAM)<-- where my new laptop is
Windows 7

GPU: My old laptop is between both 50/100 1/2 2/4 4/8 50 50 xD

Might run but not supported

Please note that we cannot guarantee that the game starts and runs at all on this hardware.

CPU: Single Core
RAM: Less than 4GB <--- Where my old laptop is
GPU: integrated graphics cards: old intel laptop onboard cards, etc
Windows: below Vista (Works on Windows XP - may not be fully supported)

For a game that requires a GTX 680, ofc :woohoo:
Jericho, your computer couldn't even fit recommended, even with your 580

Yeah, the game performs oddly. I got 14fps on the first day off playing and the next I got 7fps.

It is better than RoR, the physics are better and the crashes look a lot nicer.

The problem some people, including me, get with performance is bot running the graphics and lighting and stuff, it's the physics engine. For me it slows the simulations down- so the car and crashes just appear laggy. It's early alpha so they still have some optimization tweaks. On the newest versions of RoR a good car can run at 40fps constantly on my laptop, and as they are the same people they should find away around it soon.
