Hello all, I think that it is time that we implement some new anti-spam measures, and I'd like your input. Some facts for you: in the past month, we have banned more spam bots than any other period of time. According to the ban manager, we have banned 252 spam bots in the past month. That makes up over a quarter of all bans in the forums six-year history. When we go back to the start of the summer season here in the US, that number increases to 520, making up 61% of all bans ever occurring over the course of four months. 2017 has had a staggering 74% share in all bans. Clearly, there is something the current security questioning isn't accomplishing.

In order to combat the spam problems, this topic is meant to encourage Kivlov to implement a new anti-spam/bot system. I think that something as simple as requiring email verification could contribute a high amount of solvency. An anti-bot system like Google's reCAPTCHA system could help even more. If any of you have ideas or thoughts, leave them below. Hopefully we can fight this problem.

I was thinking a lot about this and something really needs to be done to my mind i am not expert but i think to completely eliminate spam i think the forum registry needs to be changed significantly so to register i think i thought about when you would lose your password to email you can enter an e-mail address where you want this to be sent to, Then a verification token will be sent you to choose your new pass same for your username the website and forum support team that send you token but this will be different when you create your account before you can actually create it you can send a e-mail address to create your account now when you send it to the forum support team they will inspect your e-mail address and find out it is not a spam bot registering if they find out they whether they are not a spam bot they will give them access to create the rest of there account if there are spam bots they won't give them access to create there account that way spam bots can't create accounts, When they find out there not spam they will give a link to the forum to fully create your account then you will then linked in the email to next part of registration you will type part or you have to enter characters numbers or words to pictures and ticking confirmation to prove your not a robot then you can register again i'm not an expert i don't know how this would fully work i am just having some kind of guess it might be good idea it might not be at least i can only suggest hope its good idea though actually now i know what the CAPTCHA system is this should done once the forum and website support team will give you once you entered an e-mail address.

Yes, this is getting annoyed. We're researching the ways we could solve this problem now.

Google's reCAPTCHA should get rid of the annoying bots , also maybe you could make the site secure(https)?

I don't think that https will change anything about the spam. We will start from updating the Kunena forum engine.

I know it will not change anything about the spam. But I was suggesting that you guys could add it in the nearest future as almost all the websites are now https. Cool news about the forum update .
